Ryan and Brandon huge fan of your work. But I have to tell you id destroy you both in a saber fight. No one is ready for The Man.
This is better choreography and Star Wars content in general than anything Disney has made, this was sick! And this was made 13 YEARS AGO!
Still better than anything that is Disney making now with star Wars.
Still aiming for each other's weapons. That's not a fight, that's a dance. Aim for your opponent as if you intend to end him.

The attention to detail is crazy, I would never have even thought about taking the time to do things like refelctions and distortion in glasses and such. Please do more!
This entire lightsaber battles series with all these guys on RUclips from the RVB, RVD, & AVN videos will live on in our hearts. They really choreographed and studied different combat forms very well. Disney should’ve hired them to help with the lightsaber battle scenes in their trilogy. We need more Star Wars films that are as great as the first 2 trilogies from Lucas-films, along with these highly-skilled choreographers. I hope these guys are OK today. May they retire in peace. The force be with them…………ALWAYS
Disney prefers to hire political activists who have no clue about story and characterwriting who are going to destroy Star Wars forever by pushing their agenda with the shows and movies.

wouldnt it be easier ryan when you shoot the entire thing with the failures and after that cutting the failures out, reshoot them and put the cleared failures back in? wouldnt that save time too?
Amazing how this is a 13 year old video and it still looks 10X better than any lightsaber battles from current star wars movies

I had to come back to the series to see what you boys have been up to after all this time and HOLY SHIT you are living the dream of every Star Wars kid from the 90s, congrats! Maybe some day we will get to see some of that magic that awed us so many years ago in another fan film. In the meantime, good luck with the projects your talents have got you into today.

it's funny cause now, all these years later, there finally is a mechanism made to snap together like it does in that video. i'd bet that that video was at least partially the influence for it too in one way or another.
What's cool is that seeing the raw version of the duel makes me think of Nick Gillard's stunt coordination and choreography for the sword duels in the Prequel Trilogy. 🧐😄 Hoping to see a third Ryan VS. Dorkman sometime soon if you ever plan ahead! May the Force be with you, Ryan. 😁💙

Just came from the Acolyte trailer. I mean ... yeah. Disney srewed up so much over the years I rather check on whether Ryan is back or not before considering watching any offical new SW content. ❤
This Fight is 10000 times better than the sequels
Agreed but that's because the og star wars movies died put a whole lot of thought into the choreography of the lightsaber battles. The big fight between oni wan and Darth Vader was like two old dudes fighting with canes. Not that the prequels were better (other than ROTS arguably) but the lightsaber battles were. They were choreographed a lot better. In the first ones the sci fi concept of light sabers and the force was enough we didn't need so much visual stimulation. However I cant speak for Ryan and Dorkman. These guys are next level. If star wars was 100% about lightsaber fighting, it'd star these guys.
@@RightWingCorrectWing I don't understand your opinion because a few things in the sequels completely destroy Star Wars. These are, for example, that the fan theory of transfer essence was built into the canon. The fact that an enemy like Sidious keeps coming makes Luk's victory against the Chancellor worthless. The second point is How Raiyen Jonson wrote Luke. The fact that Luke retreats to an island for no understandable reason and then throws away his lightsaber doesn't fit with Luke from episode 6. What also makes the films boring and objectively bad is that our "heroine" Rey is a Mary Sue who always gets new skills the film needs it right now. Episode 7 is an almost 1 to 1 copy of episode 5. To explain. Droids flee from the enemies with important data and land on a desert plant that is in bad condition, then our would-be "Rebels" show up and in the end a large mega weapon that has destroyed planets like the Death Star is destroyed by hunters. And the lightsaber fights are objectively bad because there was no choreographer on set who knew sword fighting. So many other things are horrible because JJ thought it looked cool. Raien Jonson's "humor" destroys Episode 8 because it takes away from the seriousness of scenes takes and destroys characters like Finn and Hux. Please acept that my English is not so good, because im an austrian.
We need you guys to come back, seriously. You're not only good about choregraphy, the cinematography you gifted us is also even better than any other Star Wars movie ever made.
RvB and RvD are both so incredible, so much ideas, so much technicity and feelings going on and we don't even know those characters. To this day it's still the best lightsaber fights ever made.
